Registration
Once registered for the JGBM World Cup Prediction Game, head to the add predictions page where you can submit your individual prediction for each match displayed.
The aim of the game is to correctly predict the scores and outcomes of matches and get yourself on the leaderboard!
Predicting the matches
Predict the end score of all the matches in the tournament/competition. You have until 15 minutes before the start of a match to add or change your prediction.
New upcoming matches will be shown on the add predictions page as the World Cup Tournament progresses.
The scoring
In the group phase the scores at the end of the game are used for the calculation of the scores. For final rounds the score at the end of the game including extra time is used.
Goals in a penalty shoot-out are not taken into consideration.
You get points for predicting the correct winner of the match or prediction of a draw. We call this the toto score. In case you also predict the exact amount of goals scored, you get extra points. We call this the full score. If you got the goals correct you get the extra goal bonus, even if you didn’t get the match result correct (e.g. match ends in 1-1 and you predicted 0-1 you will still get 1 point.
Points are allocated as follows:
5 points (Full Score)
If you have correctly predicted the result e.g. Your prediction is 2-1 and the result is 2-1.
2 points (Toto score)
You have correctly predicted a win but not the correct score (toto score) e.g predict 1-0 and the result is 2-0.
1 bonus point (Goal bonus)
You have predicted the correct number of goals a team will score. e.g predict 3-0 and the result is 3-1
Bonus point questions
You will also see ‘bonus point’ questions from our sponsor ACCO without whom, games like this, would not be possible. Answer these questions correctly & you will earn extra points! Questions must be answered before a given date and time. The value may be different for every question.
Golden Balls (Multiplier/Joker)
GOLDEN BALLS! – Each player has TWO ‘Golden Balls’ to use across the whole competition. If you select the Golden Ball (or Joker) icon next to any match, the points you earn for that match will be doubled! You can place the golden ball next to any match, and can change your mind and move it to a different match, as long as that match is still outside of 15 minutes before kick off. After this time, the golden ball is activated and your prediction for the match is locked. Use them wisely!
Don’t Give up! DAILY WEEKLY & COMPETITION PRIZE DRAW
Even if you’re not doing that well initially, DON’T GIVE UP! There is still the rest of the matches and you still have the opportunity to win in our DAILY PRIZE DRAW, WEEKLY & OVERALL COMPETITION P|RIZE DRAW – The highest score on each individual day wins a football! in the event of a tie, the winner is drawn from a lottery of the highest scorers

Same ranking?
When multiple players have the exact same amount of points, then the following sorting rules are applied on the ranking (most important one at the top):
- amount of full scores;
- amount of toto scores;
- amount of correct bonus questions.
