This device is made for people who have been using Micro Cassette recorders in the past. The record function can be directly enabled with the slide switch. In addition the SMP3810 incorporates a barcode scanner.

The SpeechMike Premium Touch not only includes the well-known capabilities of the SpeechMike Premium like the free-floating studio quality microphone, a microphone grille with optimized structure, built-in noise-reduction pop filter, antimicrobial surface or the world’s first motion sensor in a USB dictation microphone, but it also includes a slide switch for optimized control, enhanced barcode reader capabilities for the barcode devices, as well as a revised hardware architecture enabling secure firmware upgrades.

The new barcode scanner engine is based on a CCD chip technology which is more robust and drop resistant in harsh environments, because no mechanical parts like little mirrors are involved anymore. An example of supported barcodes include: EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Code 11, Interleaved 2 of 5, Discrete 2 of 5, Chinese 2 of 5, matrix 2 of 5, Inverse 1D, Codabar, MSI Code & GS1 DataBar.

The SMP3800 features breakthrough technologies such as the free-floating studio quality microphone and the hexagonal grille around it, offering 10% more open space than round holes it provides crystal clear recordings.

The SpeechMike Premium Touch is backwards-compatible with its predecessors – for easy plug & play integration into existing systems.
